== Plot ==
Jamie feels guilty about helping kill Sub Rosa, because she was kind to him. Sy tries to reassure him that actually she was terrible and cruel, that she tried to hurt Shipman even if she didn't stab her, that she killed people in the Bowels. Jamie reminds him not to lie. They wonder what she was trying to do with the dynamite; an escape plan? Trying to rouse Radham's monster?
Only one doctor, [[Willard|Willard D]], steps forward to help Jamie. He's badly hurt, breaks and cracks across his entire skeleton. Afterwards, Gordon, Gladys Shipman, Lillian, Mary and Sy agree to take turns watching Jamie, but Sy stays awake through their turns. Eventually he reassures Lillian that she was brave and grown-up and also she should sleep because it's not like he's sleeping anyway. He doesn't sleep when Gordon and Gladys wake and talk, quietly. 

Eventually the quarantine is lifted, and those two go, leaving the Lambs free to ''gossip''. Helen explains Gordon liked being the knight in shining armor, and Gladys liked that he explained things. Sy claims unconvincingly he's not jealous on any level. He also thinks Gordon is the first of them to have a crush on someone, which is not at all true. Poor Sy. 

Talking to Hayle and Briggs, Jamie is worried enough about forgetting something to insist on having an appointment before a proper operation for his injuries. Briggs admits that he's being demoted, replaced by a duke. Then he tells them they have a new assignment, starting immediately: hunting the escaped would-be professor '''[[Genevieve Fray]].'''
